Gasperini: Atalanta more suited to Coppa than Scudetto; Lookman has evolved

Atalanta coach Gian Piero Gasperini has ruled themselves out of the title race.

La Dea have enjoyed a superb season so far.

Gasperini said, "It is clear that the Coppa Italia is the most attainable goal. It is not that we can set the goal of winning the championship. Then the European Cups are more difficult to conquer even if last year Roma won in the Conference.

"The Italian teams in Europe are in difficulty. In the Coppa Italia we reached the final twice, without winning. But it is the most attainable Cup."

Gasperini also spoke of on-loan RB Leipzig winger Ademola Lookman.

"Despite being a young boy, he has evolved. I give him 5 goals because he also scored in Monza. He is a boy who grew up with Leipzig, he had experience in England. When he came to us I had the feeling of an evolved player who knows football and has immediately entered our mechanisms.

"He is an experienced player who does not need any other time to make an extraordinary contribution."
