Fulham have tabled a £1.3 million offer for Derby County centre-forward Steven Howard.
Rams signed the 6ft 3in striker from Luton for £1m just 13 months ago.
Fulham chief Lawrie Sanchez wants him as a replacement for skipper Brian McBride, who is out for at least three months after dislocating his knee.
Sanchez has moved for Howard after Watford snubbed his £1.5m offer for Darius Henderson.
