Fulham are pushing to sign Southampton defender Matt Targett today.

The Mirror says Southampton have today rejected a massive late bid from Fulham for defender Targett.

Promoted Fulham have tabled a £15million deal, plus add-ons, for the left-back.

Ex-England U21 starlet Targett, 22, starred on loan for Fulham in the Championship last term as he helped them to promotion after joining in January and making 21 appearances.

The Cottagers have tried to buy the ex-Saints trainee permanently this summer but have now seen multiple bids rejected, including this latest huge offer.
