Fulham goalkeeper Leno: Mitrovic ready for Newcastle

Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno has no doubts Aleksandar Mitrovic will be up for their clash with his old club Newcastle United.

Mitrovic has never scored, or been on the winning side, in three games against Newcastle since he left St James' Park for £27million in 2018.

The 28-year-old was seen with heavy strapping on his right ankle after Serbia's win in Norway, but he hopes to play, knowing a win could move Fulham into the top four.

“I think he's our biggest player," said Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno, who has been impressed by Mitrovic's all-round game. “Not only with his goals, the way he keeps the ball, he's the first player pressing.

“I am very impressed with him. I knew he was good, but I have been impressed by how good he really is. He's a good goalscorer, he can keep the ball, he can score a goal out of nothing and we are very happy to have him in our team."
