Victor Valdes faces another month before being ready for a playing return.
The Daily Star Sunday says Valdes, 32 was tipped for a comeback after Manchester United No.1 David de Gea dislocated a finger last week.
But United sources say Valdes' knee injury is worse than first feared and he is not yet up to the rigors of a Premier League game.
Anders Lindegaard played in a friendly against Blackpool in midweek in case he was needed to deputise for De Gea at Arsenal last night.
He is looking for a new club in January.
