France coach Didier Deschamps has dismissed a fresh round of calls for Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema to be selected.
Despite his great success with Real Madrid, Benzema hasn't been considered by Benzema for France since before the 2016 Euros after his alleged involvement in a blackmail plot.
Asked about the prospect, Deschamps told Kicker: "I'm not Santa Claus, I'm not here to announce surprises. I'm fine-tuning it little by little, I have players who, like Tolisso at Bayern, are still recovering, and I still don't have all the information about their condition.
"I will release my player list on May 18, but there will also be games after that."
And he added that “I will have players who will participate in the two finals of the European Cup. We have to hope that everything turns out well, because unfortunately we cannot avoid the unexpected. The only list that matters is the one we send to UEFA on June 1 at midnight."
