Forest Green Rovers boss Ferguson: I deserved longer at Everton

Everton legend Duncan Ferguson believes he should've been handed the top job last time he was caretaker.

Ferguson took over as caretaker when Marco Silva and Rafa Benitez departed respectively.

He also worked with Benitez, Roberto Martinez, Ronald Koeman, Carlo Ancelotti and Frank Lampard in some capacity.

"I think they should have considered me to take the team until the end of the season," he revealed, speaking to the Guardian, as he grapples with his present job at League One Forest Green Rovers.

"I said that from day one.

"I still believe that should have been the case. People in football have suggested that would have been the best move for them to do but at the end of the day they do their own thing and good luck to them."
