Nottingham Forest chairman Frank Clark insists the Championship club must make developing their own talent a top priority. In the past the likes of Andy Reid, Michael Dawson, Wes Morgan, James Perch, David Prutton and Jermaine Jenas all came through the ranks at the City Ground.
"But that is going to be the future of the club, really. We have to bring our own players through the ranks." "Hopefully we can push two or three young players through from the Academy in the near future," Clark told the Nottingham Post. "From now on we will have a smaller squad with more young players in it.
