Red Star Belgrade coach Dejan Stankovic is in talks with Sampdoria - as confirmed by Massimo Ferrero's lawyer.
Ferrero had been arrested for fraudulent bankruptcy regarding some of his other businesses not related to Sampdoria.
As a response, he resigned as Samp president and is ready to sell to a group run by Gianluca Vialli.
“Ferrero is currently in prison in Milan and I heard he is not in good physical condition, despite which he was still placed behind bars," lawyer Giuseppino Tenga told Radio Punto Nuovo.
“He has high blood pressure and nosebleeds. He doesn't even have a change of clothes with him at the moment, so hopefully they'll at least allow those to be delivered to him.
“The arrest is due to Ferrero's private business activities, including a cinema, in 2003, with the bankruptcy in 2017.
“Sampdoria have nothing to do with this, but evidently Ferrero is irritating to someone. I know he was negotiating with Stankovic to make him the new coach of Sampdoria, which is why at the moment of his arrest he was in Milan."
