Former Inter Milan star Emre is being linked with a return to Serie A.

Emre is currently a free agent after leaving Fenerbahce this summer. Having originally been the club's sporting director, he was named interim coach towards the end of last season.

The former Newcastle United star has since left Fener and Sport Digitale reports he has been offered the assistant coach's post at Lazio to work alongside Maurizio Sarri.

Emre also has an offer to join Turkey's backroom team and is currently mulling over his options.

In Istanbul they're convinced he favours a return to Italy for the new season.
