Fed-up Sevilla coach Mendilibar snaps at Aston Villa chief Monchi

Sevilla coach Jose Luis Mendilibar has taken aim at Aston Villa chief Monchi.

Mendilibar accused Monchi, without naming the former Sevilla sporting director, of tapping up fullback Marcos Acuna.

The Argentina fullback is set to leave Sevilla for Villa this week.

After last night's UEFA Super Cup defeat to Manchester City, Mendilibar said: “I have said 40,000 times that I do not understand how he is mounted, this is how it is. Last season I said that I would like the good footballers to stay, but they are getting their noses in from all sides.

"The normal thing is that they leave because they talk to the players rather than to the club, they make the club miserable but they deceive the player. And a player who has a two-year contract. They say there are sanctions and things like that but I don't finish seeing them."
