Oscar Pareja was thrilled with the match-winning performance of midfielder Mauro Diaz on the weekend.
The 23-year old Argentine had a hand in Dallas' opening two goals as they defeated Chivas USA 3-1 at home and his display was noted by Pareja who felt the Designated Player was now the key to the side.
"Mauro is the first one that I look at and he knows that and he's carrying the pressure very well," Pareja said.
"Fantastic ball to (Je-Vaughn) Watson and a couple more to (Fabian) Castillo. The penetration that Mauro is giving us is outstanding.
"Mauro is carrying the team now...he's doing very well."
Dallas are now sitting on top of the Western Conference standings with two wins and a draw from their opening three matches of the 2014 MLS season.
