The father of Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva says a move to Barcelona could've happened over the summer.
However, Paulo Silva says Barca ran out of time to close a deal.
He told Perform: "There have been many conversations, but no concrete offer has been made.
"At the time, we thought the decision was right. When it arrived, we realised that it was no longer the right time for all parties involved. Things have to happen rationally and it was not the ideal scenario for Bernardo.
"He is a mature player, he is 28 years old. Things have to be done rationally, not emotionally."
