Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne's father believes his son has gone to another level under Pep Guardiola.

The Belgian midfielder has been one of City's best and most consistent performers for many seasons.

Despite De Bruyne already being a top player before linking up with Guardiola, Herwig De Bruyne believes Guardiola has unlocked even more from his 29-year-old son.

"If he is happy in his life, then so are you as a parent," Herwig De Bruyne, Kevin's father, told HLN Sport.

"I also think Pep Guardiola has added an extra dimension to Kevin. He pushed him into that (leader) role. Gave him more responsibility because he knew his shoulders were strong enough to carry it."
