Fabregas insists pride, not confidence the problem at Chelsea

Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas believes there could be a problem with pride at Stamford Bridge this season.

The Spaniard was speaking at a Q&A session at Facebook London when he attempted to explain the reasons for the Blues fall from grace this term.

Last season's Premier League champions sit just one point above the relegation zone after 16 games and Fabregas does not necessarily believe a crisis of confidence, having won the title in 2014/15, is the issue.

"Confidence is important until a certain point. At the end of the day, as a player you have pride. We cannot win the Premier League right now, but we must do better," Fabregas said.

"Right now is not the time to think of where we might finish, we've been saying it almost all season.

"I don't think about anything apart from wanting to beat Sunderland, play my best and that's it. Right now, no one is easy as it currently shows. We've put ourselves in this position and we must now prove that we can start winning."
