The Football Association (FA) is set to create a new board dedicated to the development of professional and semi-professional women's football, according to the Daily Telegraph, reports, www.sportspromedia.com/.
The UK newspaper says the FA Women's Super League and Championship board will include representation from clubs for the first time, and teams have already been asked to nominate senior executives to fill the six spaces reserved for club representatives.
The board will also comprise three FA representatives and three independent performance and commercial experts, including an independent chair.
The board will be tasked with overseeing the development of the top two tiers of women's soccer, as well as the women's game in general, ahead of the FA's new women's football strategy, which will apparently be introduced in 2024.
