Exeter loanee Viljiami Sinisalo targets Villa chance

Aston Villa youngster Viljiami Sinisalo hopes he will get a first team chance with the club.

The 22-year-old has been out on loan at Exeter City in League One this season.

Sinisalo, who has played 37 games and counting so far this term, hopes he can push Emi Martinez for a Villa first team spot in the future.

“Being a goalkeeper now is completely different. I have had four managers at Villa – Steve Bruce, Dean Smith, Steven Gerrard, now Unai Emery, and you see different ways of players, and what is required as a keeper in possession, it is completely different from five years ago," he stated recently, per Birmingham Live.

“Teams even at lower levels play a lot more, are less direct, so every keeper needs to work on playing out and the younger generation coming through are unbelievable with their feet. It is tough, but it is the modern game and what is required of you, and so I will do my best.

“I can't say what the plan for next season is as I don't know myself, but I know I will be emotional at the end of the season when we play Oxford at home. I have built a great relationship with the football club, and I would want to play for it again whenever that is, but we will cross that bridge when we get to it."
