Exclusive: Coach Rossi confident Szoboszlai can handle Arsenal, Juventus interest

Hungarian teenager Dominik Szoboszlai seemingly has the world at his feet.

The 18-year-old caught the eye of a number of top clubs after scoring five goals in 20 appearances for RB Salzburg last season.

Arsenal, Juventus and Lazio have all been keeping tabs on Szoboszlai's progress.

Those performances for Salzburg led to Hungary boss Marco Rossi handing Szoboszlai his first national team cap in March, coming on a substitute in the Euro2020 qualifier loss to Slovakia.

Rossi then started the midfielder in Hungary's next qualifiers, all wins over Croatia, Wales and Azerbaijan.

Having watched Szoboszlai up close, Rossi says Hungary's brightest youngster has the mental fortitude to deal with the ever-growing hype over his potential.

Rossi told Tribalfootball.com: “Szoboszlai is fortunate to have a family and an agent who follow him and advise him for the best. He is ambitious, but smart and clever.

“So I believe that he does not run any risk of media overexposure. I cannot say with certainty that he is the best young man I have seen in the last 7 years, but what is certain, and what makes the difference, is that he is certainly the one with the strongest personality."

More and more Hungarian players are taking the step up to play across Europe's biggest leagues, with members of Rossi's squad competing in Germany, Italy and France.

And the 54-year-old hopes to see the trend continue, recognising what it can mean to the national team's development.

He added: “Of course I would like to see all my players in the top leagues because they could improve faster and also this would be of great help for the national games, where often the game time makes the difference."
