Former Tottenham defender Danny Rose is training with York City.

Rose was released from his contract at Watford by mutual consent.

The Sun says he has been training with the National League side with the hopes of becoming match-fit and an appealing option as a free agent.

Rose - who is from Doncaster, Yorkshire - has been out of action since leaving the Hornets in September, having been at the club since the summer of 2021.

During that time, the full-back made nine appearances in all competitions and failed to have a significant impact on proceedings.
