Former Newcastle striker Andrew Cole rates Alexander Isak ahead of Callum Wilson.

Cole says Isak should always be regarded as Newcastle's No1 striker.

“I would start Isak in the forward role for Newcastle if both he and Wilson are fit," he told TNT Sports. “I think Isak has got more to his game. He can drop deep, he's got good pace, he can beat players and he's got an eye for a pass.

“At the moment, Isak is showing he has all the attributes but he's showing them in bits, rather than all together. Once he starts showing off all his talents at once he will bring another element to Newcastle. He has to stay fit as both he and Wilson are picking up injuries and that stop-start play makes it hard to build momentum.

“Wilson is great at getting in the box and has a keen eye for goal, which you need as a striker. However, he doesn't get involved in build-up play. When Isak plays you can see the difference in the team play and his involvement in the build-up."
