Ex-Napoli coach Bigon: Garcia criticism has been excessive

Former Napoli coach Alberto Bigon feels Rudi Garcia has been unfairly criticised.

Bigon was impressed by Napoli's fight-back for yesterday's 2-2 draw with AC Milan.

He told Radio RAI: "Repeating is difficult at all levels, let alone for Napoli who lost Kim this summer, his sale unbalanced the team's defensive dynamics. And then at the moment Osimhen is also missing. It's not so easy to repeat and I would add that it's a team that has the cups, so injuries and resource management will weigh heavily in the end.

"I would say yes (Garcia criticism has been excessive). He's working to find new balances and it's not that easy. The most important thing is that yesterday we saw last season's Kvaratskhelia again after a very normal phase of involution of the boy. He demonstrated that he can return to his old self.

"From Koulibaly to Kim it was a big question mark, but then it became an exclamation point, Kim did even better. For now, however, the replacement for Kim (Natan) is not at those levels, there is a lot of work to be done."
