Ex-Man Utd midfielder Rodrigo Possebon now a sporting director

Former Manchester United midfielder Rodrigo Possebon has jumped into management - at the age of 31.

Possebon last played for Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam in 2018. By then aged 29, he struggled for fitness, and couldn't shrug off a niggling back injury, and was released by the club after a few weeks.

But when he wasn't playing, he concentrated on education, gaining coaching qualifications – and in the last 18 months he has been studying FIFA's courses in sports management, law and marketing, reports the Manchester Evening News.

All that has stood him in good stead as he took his first steps behind the scenes in November 2019 – and now at the age of 31 is director of football at Ferroviaria in Brazil's fourth tier.
