Salford City have named former Bury boss Chris Casper as their new sporting director.
The Mirror says Casper, who was a member of Manchester United's legendary youth team, has been brought in as Salford's sporting director.
The 42-year-old never maintained his place in the United first-team, leaving in 1998 before being forced into retirement through injuries just two years later, aged 24.
He went on to manage Bury, before holding backroom positions at Bradford City and Grimsby Town.
Casper has been one of the men behind a ruthless summer recruitment drive at Salford , which has seen 12 new additions join the club.
