Okazaki saw his contract at Malaga terminated with the Segunda Division side unable to register the 33-year-old without breaching a salary cap.
That's despite him being announced and signing a month ago.
Okazaki posted to social media:
“Hello Malaguistas, first of all I want to thank you for the immense love you gave me during my stay.
“I want to say goodbye and wish the greatest success to my team-mates and the staff that made me feel at home."
Okazaki is now a free agent.
