Ex-Inter Milan coach Simoni convinced Gasperini can turn things around

Former Inter Milan coach Gigi Simoni hopes Gian Piero Gasperini can turn results around.

The Nerazzurri had lost all three official outings in the Italian Super Cup, Serie A and Champions League before last night's 0-0 draw with AS Roma.

Simoni said: "Gasperini? I want to say not likely, but in reality I think so. [Massimo] Moratti really feels defeats, and I can say that from experience. I think I was sacked after two victories.

"I hope Gasperini can recover, he has done very little wrong, the fault is perhaps with the boys who have lost their determination to play.

"The Champions League game saw them play like it was a practice match. It was an unexpected defeat, the team has lost motivation, and it is strange given not that long ago they were the world's best.

"Gasperini needs a board that makes him feel comfortable, to do his job and that are consistent with their intentions.
