Ex-Chelsea striker Sutton: Club in limbo until Conte future sorted

Chris Sutton has claimed that Chelsea are a club who are currently in limbo and that things will continue to be this way until the future of manager Antonio Conte is sorted out.

The Blues have endured a frustrating season and look to be a shadow of the side that they were last season when they sailed to the Premier League title.

Many pundits and fans of the club expect Conte to depart at the end of the season.

"What's going to be interesting is who the next manager is," said the ex-Chelsea striker. "I think he [Conte] played Ruben Loftus-Cheek as a striker at times when he played him sparingly.

"The fact that he's out on loan tells you what Conte thought of him.

"Conte clearly didn't like Batshuayi despite scoring a number of goals for Chelsea. There's something that he didn't like.

"This is the issue Chelsea have, until they got a manager in place it's going to be extremely difficult for the club to start planning."
