Ex-Chelsea stars Gudjohnsen & Ballack sign up for Ray Wilkins tribute game

Eidur Gudjohnson and Michael Ballack are the latest former football stars to sign up to play for the Chelsea Legends team who will face off against Inter Forever next month.

Gudjohnson spent six successful seasons with the Blues before departing to join Barcelona in 2006, while Ballack joined the club during that same year from Bayern Munich.

The match will be dedicated to former Chelsea player and coach Ray Wilkins who sadly passed away earlier this month.

Ballack said: "I am very happy to be joining the Chelsea Legends game, raising money for some important causes,' 'I loved working with Ray Wilkins, he was a wonderful man who will be missed by all of us in the Chelsea family, so it is an honour to wear the blue shirt again in his memory.

"I am also looking forward to sharing a pitch with some important players like Gianfranco Zola and Jurgen Klinsmann, and I am sure it will be a fantastic occasion."

Gudjohnsen added: "I can't wait to be back at Stamford Bridge to play in front of the Chelsea fans alongside some of my former friends and team-mates, and some huge players from the club's history.

"Ray had a huge impact on me personally and professionally and I know how much he meant to everybody at Chelsea, and the wider football world, so we will be sure to put on a great show on the night to honour him."
