Former Brighton manager Mark McGhee has applied for the manager's job at Motherwell.

"I have let it be known through my representatives that I am interested in the Motherwell job," said the 50-year-old yesterday. "I am in Barcelona on holiday at the moment and there hasn't been any official contact from the club. Hopefully, though, there will be."
