Sergio Batista is likely to be appointed as the new manager of Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua.
The former Argentina boss, who left his post with the Argentine Football Association after last year's Copa America, looks set to replace Jean Tigana who was sacked in April.
Reports suggest that Batista will sign a one-and-a-half-year deal in the next few days, taking over from interim manager Jean-Florent Ikwange Ibenge, who has been assisted by ex-Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka.
