Everton are watching Olympique Lyon defender Jake O'Brien.

Foot Mercato says the Republic of Ireland international is being scouted by Everton leading up to the January market.

Everton are now assessing whether to move for the 22 year-old.

O'Brien joined crisis club Lyon this year from Crystal Palace, where he never made a senior appearance.

Instead, the Irishman spent time on-loan with Swindon and RWD Molenbeek.
