Everton U21 coach Tait delighted with Metcalfe progress

Everton Under-21 boss Paul Tait is delighted with the progress of Jenson Metcalfe.

Metcalfe has been moved from different positions this season.

Tait said, “That was our idea, really. When Luke (Butterfield) came back into the team, we decided to move Jenson further forward. I think Luke's natural position is the six – he's very good at that both in and out of possession. Whether we've got a single pivot or a double pivot, he's very good in that position.

“In that midfield – I know Luke and Tyler (Onyango) are out – but we've had some of the younger lads come in, and we want five, six, seven players challenging for those three places in there.

"That can only be good for the boys individually, and for the team."
