Everton are set to extend Abdoulaye Doucoure's contract by one more year.
The Toffees are currently battling to avoid relegation from the Premier League.
If they stay up, manager Sean Dyche will get to work on finalizing the squad for next season.
Per the Liverpool Echo, if they survive, Doucoure is one who has earned a near deal.
He will remain at the club through an option that Everton can exercise within his contract.
Even if they do go down, there is a chance they will extend his deal, given they can sell him for a modest fee and recoup some cash rather than losing him as a free agent.
Doucoure has been hugely impressive under Dyche in recent games for the Toffees.
