Everton striker Rooney may reject DC United for son Kai's career

Everton striker Wayne Rooney may pull out of a move to DC United to help son Kai's football career.

The Mirror says Rooney is expected to wait until Everton appoint their new manager, likely to be Marco Silva, and find out if he fits into his plans before making a decision on his future.

But wife Coleen may not join her husband in the States for the sake of their children - which could force Rooney into a U-turn.

Son Kai, 8, is currently honing his skills at the Manchester City academy and is said to be "exceptionally talented".

It is thought he would be best served staying in England with the Premier League champions, rather than moving to America. Both of his parents are said to be unwilling to affect his career, with his coaches tipping Kai to follow in his father's footsteps.
