Everton made an attempt to keep hold of Dan Rose before his commitment to Schalke.
The 16 year-old goalkeeper has agreed terms on a three-year contract with Schalke - but only after turning down a scholarship offer from Everton.
Rose will be the first foreign goalkeeper on Schalke's books.
According to @Iandennisbbc, Dan Rose has turned down a scholarship offer from Everton to join Schalke.
The goalkeeper was born in England but has recently represented Ireland at youth international level.
