Everton line up shock £40m move for Man City keeper Hart

Everton are believed to be planning a sensational swoop for Manchester City's Joe Hart.

According to The Sun, new Toffees owner Farhad Moshiri is plotting an audacious £40million bid for the 29-year-old goalkeeper.

With news that Pep Guardiola could offload England number one Hart upon his arrival at the Etihad Stadium, Everton are ready to pounce as they look to splash the cash this summer.

Tim Howard has departed Goodison Park and with Joel Robles currently the first choice, Moshiri wants a big-name keeper signing to sure up the Toffees flailing defence.

Guardiola wants to bring Marc-Andre Ter Stegen to City from Barcelona, and if he succeeds in doing so, Everton will table a massive offer for Hart which is expected to land the two-time Premier League winner a massive £200,000 a week.

Everton are also talking to departing City manager Manuel Pellegrini and if they can persuade the Chilean to take over, it may make the shock move for Hart seem all the more realistic.
