Everton could demand Tom Cleverley as part of Manchester United's bid for star pair Marouane Fellaini and Leighton Baines.
United are preparing to make a renewed £35 million bid for Baines and Fellaini after being accused of "insulting" Everton with a £28 million offer for the two players.
The Telegraph says Blues boss Roberto Martínez's admiration of United's England midfielder Cleverley, who spent the 2010-11 season on loan at Wigan Athletic under the Spaniard, may also emerge as a bargaining tool on Everton's part should Fellaini and Baines express a desire to leave.
