Sunderland are ready to resume new contract talks with Jack Colback.

The Journal says there is a determination at board level to keep hold of the midfielder, who turned down a contract offer in the summer.

It is understood retaining Colback, who is interesting Everton, is near the top of his list of priorities and he will recommend the club re-start negotiations.
