Everton director Kevin Thelwell has revealed Jack Harrison was their key target for several months.
The Toffees finally got their man in Harrison, as they secured his signing from Leeds United.
The 26-year-old is currently out for a month with a hip injury, but Thelwell believes he will soon be ready to contribute.
"Jack has been one of our main targets this summer, and we are delighted to have brought him to Everton," he told evertonfc.com.
"He was eager to sign for us, and we are confident he can have a real impact on our team once he recovers from his minor injury in the next few weeks.
"Jack is a clever footballer who brings pace, technical ability, goals, and assists, which, combined with his work ethic, makes him an excellent addition to our squad."
