Everton defender Mason Holgate is set to leave the club in the coming days on a loan deal.

The 26-year-old has spent the past two seasons struggling for game time with the Toffees.

Per The Mail, Holgate is now heading to Southampton where he will have a medical.

While Holgate has not earned a permanent exit, he is happy to get regular first team football.

Brought to Everton from Barnsley in 2015, the center back has yet to reach his potential.

Capped at England U21 level, Holgate has found it tough to get consistency in the past few years.
