Everton are pressing on with their pursuit of Crystal Palace's Scott Dann according to reports.

<i>The Independent</i> is of the belief that the Toffees are desperate to replace Sylvain Distin this summer and have identified Eagles centre-back Dann as that man.

Dann was Palace's Player of the Year last season and has two years to run on his contract suggesting that Alan Pardew will be loath to let him leave.

Roberto Martinez also lost Antolin Alcaraz at the culmination of the recently-completed campaign and is determined to lure a quality central defender to Goodison Park.
