Everton boss Silva: No experiments for Southampton Cup clash

Everton boss Marco Silva says he won't field an experimental line-up for their Carabao Cup tie with Southampton.

Silva says the players are still adapting to the style he wants, so Tuesday's third-round tie can be another step towards consistency.

"I don't see these types of games as a game to change everything," he said.

"Since the first Premier League match, I have said that it is not good for us to be always changing something in our squad.

“In the last two or three games, we have repeated our backline. Iin the seven games we played we have only been able to do that two times because of red cards, injuries and my decisions in some moments

“It's important we start to have some consistency in our starting XI — not because I don't believe in them, as everyone is working hard to achieve what they want to, which is to play in our team.

“We respect the competition and have ambitions in the competition. It's never good when you change many players from one match to another.

“We will see what will be my decision. Of course, some of the players are working hard and showing me they want to play."
