Everton boss David Moyes insists they were never going to sell Mikel Arteta.
The Spanish midfielder penned a new deal with Everton over the weekend.
"I think we weren't going to allow it to happen any way," Moyes told evertonfc.com.
"We had said that if you do [want to buy him] you are going to have to come to Everton with bags of money because we are not going to sell."
