Everton boss Roberto Martinez has played down reports of an issue cropping up relating to James McCarthy and the prospect of the midfielder being offered improved terms.
The midfielder is in talks over improved terms.
Martinez said: "James already has a very long-term contract. I don't know where the talk is coming from.
"He arrived at the club 13 months ago, his contract is long-term and the ambition of everyone is to see him at Everton for many, many years on top of that long-term contract he has, so it is not an issue at all."
