Enrique wants Watford coach for Spain staff

Watford face losing Jesus Casas to the Spain setup.

Casas is set to leave his role as assistant coach at Watford's after being approached to become part of Luis Enrique's Spain staff.

The Watford Observer says former Barcelona boss Enrique, who worked with Casas while in charge of both the Catalan club's senior and B teams, has identified the Watford man as an ideal candidate to help coach La Roja.

Casas provided analysis on opposition sides while working with Enrique and his reports are understood to have impressed the 48-year-old.

He joined Watford along with Javi Gracia in January and remains contracted to the club. The Hornets are, therefore, likely to pursue a compensation package should Casas depart for Spain.
