The FA are reportedly preparing to offer Jose Mourinho the role of England manager should the Portuguese not sign with Manchester United.
The Sun is reporting Mourinho is on the shortlist to replace Roy Hodgson after Euro 2016.
It is understood the former Chelsea boss is expecting to replace Louis van Gaal as United manager should the Dutchman fail to qualify the Red Devils for the Champions League this season.
Barring an exceptional performance in France, it appears as though Hodgson will not be offered a new deal with the Three Lions once his current contract expires at the end of the European Championships, paving the way for Mourinho to fill the void.
Mourinho has been considered for the role of England manager in the past, with the FA opting to appoint Fabio Capello instead of the 'Special One' in 2008.
