Swansea City midfielder Jonjo Shelvey believes the England national team needs a player like him who likes to play the ball 'forward'.
The 23-year-old was recalled to the Three Lions setup for the first time in three years by Roy Hodgson thanks to his impressive start to the domestic season with the Swans.
England take on San Marino and Switzerland in Euro2016 qualifiers and Shelvey is looking to make an impact for his country.
"He was just telling me what he wanted me do in terms of the session, to get on the ball and get us passing," Shelvey said of Hodgson.
"I'm not a backwards and sideways player. I always try to pass it forward when I get the chance. And I feel that England need someone to do that."
