Empoli president Fabrizio Corsi says they're yet to discuss Riccardo Saponara with AC Milan.
It's been claimed Milan want to buy back the midfielder.
"It's just rumours and speculation," Corsi told MilanNews.
“We haven't been contacted by Milan in regard to Saponara returning to the Rossoneri.
“We know, through his agent, that there are four or five teams interested in the player, big teams. The transfer window isn't open yet though, and there have been no direct talks with [Milan CEO Adriano] Galliani to bring him back to the Rossoneri.
“I don't know if this idea about Saponara came from Milan sources, it wasn't from us.
“With regard to Milan, there are things to be sorted out as far as the ownership is concerned. They're in talks to sell the club, so the transfer market is of secondary importance to them.
“I'd like to take this opportunity to wish a speedy recovery to their President, Silvio Berlusconi, I expect him to be up and among us again soon."
