Emery admits Arsenal must improve to catch Man City, Chelsea

Arsenal manager Unai Emery says he must continue to improve his squad in order to compete with the Premier League title contenders.

After losing to Manchester City and Chelsea in their opening two games, Arsenal have won nine on the bounce. Another win tonight against Leicester City would propel them into third place on the Premier League table, in front of Tottenham and Chelsea.

But Emery knows the Gunners must improve if they are to match their rivals over the course of the season.

When asked by Sky Sports about the difficulties of the Premier League, Emery said: "It's competition. Here there are more competitive teams, and with the best players at Man City and Chelsea and Liverpool and Tottenham.

"Can we stay with them in the table? We are close but in two matches against them we lost and our challenge is to continue to find a performance for these different [games] to get closer to beating them."
