Egypt star Mahmoud Abdel Razek Fadlallah is being linked with Sunderland.

Known widely as Shikabala, the El Zamalek midfielder has been a long-term target for Black Cats boss Steve Bruce.

The Daily Mail says he's 6ft 2ins tall, 23 years old and can occupy the playmaker role or wide midfield.

He was suspended by FIFA after leaving Greek side PAOK to return to Zamalek without a transfer being finalised three years ago but is back in the Egypt squad now and part of their Africa Cup of Nations team.

Sunderland have other priorities but other clubs are taking note.
