Dutch pundits pull apart ex-Chelsea midfielder Van Ginkel: Just really sad

Former Chelsea midfielder Marco van Ginkel has been pulled apart by Dutch pundits.

Now with Vitesse Arnhem, Van Ginkel signed for Chelsea ten years ago, but his time with the Blues was plagued by injury.

Speaking on the KieftJansenEgmondGijp, former Manchester City striker Wim Kieft said: “You know what I find sad.

“That Van Ginkel doesn't have much to say. He's not a very interesting personality. But ten or twelve years ago he was a really good footballer. That boy has only had injuries.

“At Chelsea, at AC Milan... He has had so much bad luck," Kieft concludes. “Then it almost hurts your eyes when you see him walking. He just can't do more."

Ex-Holland forward Rene Van der Gijp agrees, stating: “It can never be fun to know that you are less than forty percent of what you were twelve years ago, and that it is actually not worth seeing. He will stay at this level, he will not get better."

“He is really lost," Michel Van Egmond also said. “On paper his career looks great, but in practice it never really materialised."
